Sheffield has a studentship available for a candidate tostart from September
2013.The award
covers fees (UK/EU or Overseas) and a full stipend at theRCUK rate (13,590
in 2012-13). The scholarship funds up to threeyears full-time or six years
part-time study, subject to satisfactoryprogress.
How to
applyApplicants should submit a research proposal of around 2000
words,indicating clearly its links to SPERIs core research focus and
atleast one of the four research themes below:
the British growth
crisisthe building of a new political architecture for the Eurozonethe
rise of the BRICs and the emergence of changing forms ofcapitalism in East
Asia, Latin America and Africathe G20's leadership and management of the
global politicaleconomy and the role of other leading global
institutions.
Proposals should include:
A provisional titleThe
main aims of your researchKey research questions and/or hypothesesThe
academic and wider value of the PhDAn
identification of links to previous literature in the areaThe methods of
research proposedA plan and timetable of work
Eligibility
You
should have a first or upper second class UK honours degree orequivalent and
a Masters degree in a relevant subject area.You should be applying to start
your first year of study on afull-time or part-time PhD with the University
in the 2013-14 academicyear (i.e. after 1st August 2013, exact start date to be
agreed
withyour supervisor/ department).Awards are open to UK, EU and
international applicants.
